Legend tells of a cabin boy named Baret who boarded a ship of the King of France headed overseas to find new species of flowers. Baret, who was considered fragile by all, was captured by the natives and after being freed, the crew discovered that she was not a weak young man at all, but in fact a courageous woman who had disguised herself as a sailor to explore the world. Touched by her story, the king decided to baptize one of the flowers brought from these distant lands in her honor with its real name: Hydrangea.
