Legend has it that the queen, an expert lace maker, was busy embroidering a beautiful lace in her garden and, pricking herself with the needle, caused a tiny drop of blood to fall on a flower. This little flower would later become marvelous with delicate petals that evoked visions of finely embroidered precious lace.
